Mount Toby 7-23-06
Hiked Mount Toby, which is about 5 miles away from Mount Sugarloaf, it weighs in at a more muscular 1269'. The base altitude is about 400' so the whole hike was about 900 vertical feet (with the terrain deviations). I did not time the ascent. There is an old fire tower at the summit which provided a panoramic view. I could clearly see Haystack in VT as well as Greylock, and Mount Tom. I took the Robert frost trail from the north.
