Chocorua Mountain 9-4-06![]()
If any mountain in the Whites could give a guy a hard on.. This is it. Took 1:58 to get up I really wanted to get it done early so I could eat and sleep. Hike up was nothing spectacular until I got above the tree line (which was at a mere 3100') Towards the summit the trail vanishes and you are on your own to find a creative way up the rocks. Very interesting geology up there! lots of crumbly granite like rock with harder veins. The view was second to none. It was nice and clear and dry out so you could see clearly forever! Washington had cleared up too so you could see the summit. Absolutely breathtaking views of the Whites and Lakes region. You could even see North Conway! It was windy and chilly up top, not to mention some annoying teenagers came by so I left after only maybe 15 minutes. I encountered a couple from Maine on my descent and we chatted for about the last hour of the hike. Good times and my feet didn't blister up after hiking this and Washington today! Total Vertical was a little over 2800'. Click Here for the Hike Map
