Made the fourth installment of my "anything in Central New England Uplands except Wachusett" goal by hiking New Ipswich Mountain. This mountain is puny like Watatic however it is much harder to get to. The summit was 3.2 miles from the trailhead and required climbing over several other puny little mountains along the ridgeline. Total vertical for the round trip was 1500' but it was a REALLY EASY 1500. the dif between trailhead and summit was 440 feet. There were lots of cairn along the way for some reason. I cant believe they run a race on this trail. There are only two other mountains I want to bag in this range and they are Pack Monadnock North and Temple Mountain. No time this week, maybe next.
