Sunapee 7-15-06![]()
Hiked Sunapee in NH. This mountain netted about 1700 on the way up and 150 on the way down for a total of 1850' This trail was quite easy and not too too long (3 miles). It had some nice Vistas, but the Humidity killed any distance viewing. The lake was clearly visible however. The mountain is almost double summitted as there is a west summit slightly lower than the true. The ski area goes up to the true summit where a lodge of sorts sits. I snagged a bunch of pictures then began my descent. At this point 2 blisters formed, one on my left heel one on my right bridge. I spotted a Moose on my way down marking probably the first time I have seen any interesting wild life on ANY hike (besides boring birds!). I think the ascent took about 85-90 mins. I was not hauling ass up there like usual. Two reasons for this: First I was doddling around a lot trying to enjoy the vistas, second it was extremely hot and humid. I soaked my shirt through within 5 minutes and that was only maybe 200 vertical. Click Here for the Hike Map
