Tripyramids 8-13-06![]()
This hike was very challenging for only one reason: The Slides. The north slide is a landslide which occurred around 1885. Its narrow (about 50 feet wide) and long (about 800 vertical) and it extremely unstable. I triggered a few rock slides inadvertently just climbing the damned thing! There were no views from the N, S Tripyramid but there were a few from the Middle. You could always see the other Tripyramids from each peak except I could not seem to see the North peak from the middle (dense trees). I was able to bike in the first 3.5 miles so I saved myself 7 miles total and only had to hike about 6. Awesome hike for the slides. Summits were meh... To see what the tripyramids look like, check out my Chocorua page! they are in there somewhere! Total vertical was about 3000. Click here to see a video of me kicking some rocks down the north slide. For the record those rocks were still going 10 seconds after that video stopped (I had to conserve memory, plus you could barely hear them). Click Here for the Hike Map
