Trail(s) Taken Former PA RTE 61

I have wanted VERY badly to visit the "ghost town" Centralia since I learned about it in 2000. I finally got the opportunity and I took it. The whole Anthracite Coal region in PA is like a different world to me. Houses are tall and thin and squished up against each other. Towns are clods of houses arranged with perfect grid roads.. Its like culture shock! Anyways not a lot of moving around was necessary and a lot of pics are taken from my car except the ones of Old 61.

I am not going to try and explain WHY Centralia is a ghost town, so I will defer that question to other websites which can do a much better job explaining it. Offroaders or Wikipedia.

Amazing! Simply Amazing! I did snatch some Anthracite while I was there BTW! hooray for high carbon content coal!
