Killington 7-29-06![]()
Hiked Killington VT. This is Vermont's second beefiest mountain at 4235'. I camped in the woods at the base of Bucklin trail (back side of the mountain) and I started my hike at 6:00 sharp. I was overtaken by one hiker on the ascent who breezed by me. I was going at a good pace so this person was definitely very fast. I reached the summit at 95 minutes. The entire hike was foggy. There was no view at the summit. It was very cold and windy up top (temp was in the 50s wind gusts up to 35 mph I think) The final ascent to the top from the AT/LT (it was a spur trail) was extremely steep and slippery. There was no benchmark on the summit. Visibility was about 50 feet. Click Here for the Hike Map
